I Have Committed Temporary Cybercide

I have committed temporary cybercide.

In other words, I have killed off my online presence for a brief stint of time.

My reasons for doing this are mainly because: a) I need to reach a state of mind which will require my full attention on my creative output of material. And b) this will be a healthy break and/or experiment for me to undergo.

It is also during this time I will be focusing on my upcoming first e-book.

This temporary cybercide I anticipate will not last forever--hopefully no more than two months or less.

If you would like to get in contact with me please do so at xbstatic01@gmail.com.

It's A Good Feeling. A Really Good Feeling.

Cassandra Gillig blogged about me on her Tumblr. She said nice things. A lot of nice things. Things that let me know that what I do and what I love to do does not go unnoticed. You can read what she wrote here and I would also like to link you to some of her amazing writing as well:

"Cheap Razor"

I did a piece for Paint Avant-Garde titled "Cheap Razor." I think it's pretty self-explanatory of the consequences. This piece was actually inspired by one of Martin Scorsese's first short films, The Big Shave. While Scorsese's was more allegorical in representing America's self-destruction during the Vietnam War in the 60's, mine tends to favor more into the realm of absurdity. Either or, both look painful.

You can find The Big Shave here.

Hmmm... What Does It Mean? *rubs chin*

I have experiences in my own life that, sometimes, I need to write about. I guess it falls under that rule of, "write what you know". (Although I do believe that rule can be broken.)

A story usually begins with an idea, and that idea transcends into an outline, and that outline serves as a template for a first draft. But quite often, I find myself asking: "That's great. It's a story, but what does it mean?" Yes, I am faced with the task of developing some sort of allegorical purpose behind my story. Every piece of literary fiction has to have a philosophical theme, does it not?

I have read the arguments in articles and blogs that there is no reason why a story, shouldn't just be a story. As long as it embraces us with a convincing plot, dynamic characters, and honest entertainment then what's to lose?

And on that I completely agree.

We read to be entertained. And as a writer, I read to learn as well. As I write my story, layered with a facade of fiction over something that occurred in my life, I learn and find something possibly more profound than when it actually happened. Something that might've not been there before. I often begin writing, and dread that there is no real theme behind it. But as I re-read what I've written, not only does the story make sense, but this life experience could serve as an admonition or a slice-of-life reconciliation.

This is why I write. Writing is my way of re-creating life through the lens of rationality, even though the lens can sometimes lack coherent visibility from the absurd, and the surreal.

Readers aren't dumb, and often they're smarter than the writer. Let them develop the true meaning behind your story, and maybe their own interpretation will help them seek an answer or overcome a hardship in their life.

Excerpt Taken From; THE FRAGMENT UNBORN

I had seen this all before, the green trees and blue skies practically humble of existing in this utopia of profound beauty. But this wasn’t a perceivable beauty for the human senses; this was beauty that must have been accepted into the souls of men by means of the celestial touch of The One; The Unfathomable One.
I could see the generations of the past, present, future, and they were One. I understood their meaning of existing in this reality, but how they were conceived was a question with an answer far more elaborate.
And then…
I was presented with a blank canvas. An everlasting, endless white, or at least what I could perceive as color. And then, I looked up and a dark sky had formed above my head. The sky was outlined with a purple haze of fascinating flashing particles. This vision had input new knowledge deep within my consciousness, because I now had esoteric understanding. I now knew that these purple particles were the Multiverse of Voids (The Multivoid). My eyes were paralyzed by the stunning and intense surrealism of it all.
It engulfed me whole. Then my mind came to an almost instant reaction: I fragmented myself into several, spectral color beams of light, projecting into The Multivoid. Inside these beams were the will and the power of the Infinite Rationale, forming together a resistance of uncanny power.
One Fragment confronted a Void, initiating a war. The results of that war have yet been resolved.

***

And it was over. My mind had returned into my physical body.
I had awakened to find myself in the sudden realization that it wasn’t the dream that was an imaginary, false conception; it was my life. My life imprisoned in one of the infinite Voids that aggregated The Multivoid.
After that dream, I developed a newfound “transgressive perception” against the reality I currently dwelled. But it wasn’t a dream. It was more so an invitation to where I should have been a long time ago.
I had to forget what I knew about this reality. Undo what had been done. They say I live in my own World in a negative aspect. I say they stand corrected. And if those who deny what’s true and what’s real, if they would ever catch a glimpse or touch a sliver of my World, then they would perceive nothing but The Unfathomable.
I don’t live in my own World. My own World lives inside of me.

"ButterFly Passenger"

Roaming to no end. Roaming
to no beginning. Roaming
just to roam.

My only passenger is
the small fish that sits on
the right side of me.

Stop. Go. Stop. Go. Stop.
Go.

Me with a belly full
of nothing, and a fish
with a belly full of
pennies, nickels, dimes, and
quarters.

A decent breeze and
one red light and there
it was. Or he. Or she. Or
me.

A small, yellow butterfly
enters via the driver door
window and flutters around.

5 Seconds—
give or take.

The winged symbol exits
via the driver door
window.

On the hood.

Flies away.

What it meant?

I’ll never know…

DU#2-Proof That It Does Exist

Here it is; proof that their actually ARE Disruption Unlimited #2 penciled pages in progress. As you can see, Dark Drift still likes to beat the shit out of people with a baseball bat. Ouch. If you might remember the two promotional ads in the front and back of DU#1, there was intentions of giving Dark Drift his own solo book. But those plans have slightly altered, and now his story will simply continue in Disruption Unlimited. Expect a dark, poetic- noir, gritty feel to the story. I think you'll enjoy it.

DISRUPTIVE ENERGY!

This is a piece I did as an "advertisement" for Disruption Unlimited #2. The slogan was, "DRINK DISRUPTIVE ENERGY, CRACK HEADS LIKE DARK DRIFT!" Funny Stuff. I still may use it, but instead rather as the appendix at the end of the issue.
